Happy holidays! In this season of joy and gratitude, I want to take a moment to thank everyone that’s been part of our journey. And especially to our members who have been so patient as we grow and refine our platform.
Although we were publicly quiet this year, this has been our greatest year to date. We’ve spent the better part of 2018 rebuilding our platform to create the food recommendation platform that we envisioned back in 2015. Back in those days, we were at a loss to describe what we wanted to build. Now, our vision is coming to fruition and we’re thrilled to show you what we’ve been cooking up! We’ll be launching our tailored eating plan service in March.
In our journey, we’ve learned that there is no such thing as “healthy eating.” Each and every person has unique needs. We’ve also learned that the advice promoted by most wellness and fitness “experts” is too generic and even counter-productive.
As someone who was overweight or borderline obese for most of his life, I can say with certainty that eating is influenced by many factors beyond what’s described by most fitness influencers. Eating is personal, it’s emotional, it’s social, and it’s spiritual. Someone who’s been fit their entire life is generally unable to understand the deep emotions and beliefs that drive the eating behaviors of someone who struggles to maintain her weight. Thus, most fitness folks sell products and ideas that are completely out of touch with the needs of most people.
At Papaya, our main goal is to help you find the best foods for your unique life situation so you feel nourished, satiated, and energized. And in doing so, you’ll probably shed some pounds.
